It’s a deeply personal choice, yet a number of well-known figures have been candid about going through it. From Elton John to Dax Shepard, here’s a look at the celebrities who made that call.

Ozzy Osbourne (1948–2025)

Already a father of six, the legendary rocker made the decision in 1986 that his family was complete. That said, he reportedly had the procedure reversed later on, reportedly at the urging of his wife Sharon.

Jon Gosselin

Two twins and a set of sextuplets later, the reality TV personality concluded that eight children was more than enough. He had the procedure carried out in 2014.

Nikki Sixx

The Mötley Crüe bassist was a father of four when he opted for the snip, following his split from his second wife. He has since remarried and welcomed another child after having the vasectomy reversed.

Tyler Hubbard

The Florida Georgia Line singer made the decision following the arrival of his third child in 2020. He has mentioned, however, that adoption remains something he’d gladly consider down the line.

Ronan Keating

The Irish pop star has five children in total. After the birth of his youngest in 2020, his wife encouraged him to go ahead with the procedure.

Brandon Blackstock (1976–2025)

A father of four — two of whom he shares with former wife Kelly Clarkson — Blackstock got the procedure done after Clarkson encouraged him to take that step.

The comedian and actor penned a personal essay for The Guardian detailing his experience. Honest and unfiltered, his intention was to give other men something real to connect with.

Jay Cutler

The former NFL quarterback disclosed on the reality series Very Cavallari that he’d had a vasectomy to avoid expanding his family further with his then-wife Kristin Cavallari.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.

After welcoming twins in 2021 — alongside a toddler daughter already at home — the Bachelor alum and his wife Lauren decided three kids was the right number for their family.

Mike Caussin

The former professional footballer had the procedure while still married to Jana Kramer, after the couple had two children together. He was at peace with the decision, though she later expressed regret over it.

Slim Thug
