Celebrities Who Live on Farms, Ranches, or Rural Retreats

Michael Michael, May 10, 2026May 9, 2026

Not every celebrity spends their free time in luxury hotels, red carpet parties, or private clubs.

Some are happiest in barns, gardens, horse paddocks, chicken coops, and muddy fields. A few own rescue farms. Others raise livestock, care for horses, grow vegetables, or retreat to rural homes when they want distance from fame.

In many cases, these stars have spoken publicly about their farm life. But their rural side still surprises fans because it feels so different from the image they have on screen, on stage, or on red carpets.

Amanda Seyfried may attend the Met Gala, star in major films, and walk red carpets, but her real dream life is on a farm.

The Mean Girls and Mamma Mia! actress lives on a farm in upstate New York with her family and many rescue animals. Her farm is officially registered as a nonprofit and is home to horses, goats, chickens, ducks, cats, dogs, and a donkey. Seyfried said the animals are often older or have special needs, and she called the farm “my dream.”

The Footloose and Mystic River actor and his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, have shared videos with goats, pigs, alpacas, and miniature horses. Bacon has even serenaded his farm animals with music, sometimes joined by Sedgwick. PEOPLE covered one of their videos where they sang Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ’Em” to their animals.

Sedgwick has said that some of their goats were gifts from Bacon, including goats named Macon and Louie. Her rural side is a reminder that farm living does not always mean leaving entertainment behind. Sometimes it simply becomes the place where celebrities feel most normal.

Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid may be one of the world’s best-known models, but she has long treated farm life as her escape.

She has spent years connected to her family’s Pennsylvania farm, where she has shared quiet moments with horses, family, and her daughter. Hadid celebrated her birthday with an intimate gathering at her Pennsylvania farmhouse, with photos showing a peaceful family setting and even a horse nearby.

For Gigi, the farm seems to offer something fashion weeks cannot: privacy and a slower rhythm.

Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid also shares a strong connection to her family’s rural Pennsylvania farm.

Along with Gigi, Bella has often been described as finding peace around horses and open land. Bella and Gigi spent lockdown at their mother Yolanda Hadid’s 32-acre Pennsylvania farmhouse, where the closest neighbors included horses, goats, and cows.

Bella’s modeling life is built on high fashion, but her rural side has always felt closely tied to horses, family, and time away from the industry.
