Horror has launched more major careers than people often realize.

For some actors, a scary movie or dark TV role became the first big break. For others, horror built a loyal fan base before comedy, drama, action, or prestige television turned them into mainstream names.

These stars may have started with screams, slashers, monsters, ghosts, or supernatural stories, but they did not stay boxed into horror.
