Most actors do not begin with a starring role.

Before the posters, awards, franchises, and red carpets, many future stars spent time in the background: standing in crowds, sitting in stadiums, dancing in music videos, filling out party scenes, or playing tiny uncredited parts.

Those roles rarely come with glamour. Extras often wait for hours, repeat the same movement, and may barely be visible in the final cut. But for many actors, background work is still part of the climb. It gets them on set, teaches them how productions work, and sometimes puts them near the right people.

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt’s early Hollywood years included tiny appearances before he became one of the biggest movie stars in the world.
