Bipolar disorder is often misunderstood.

It is not simply “moodiness” or having a bad day. It is a mental health condition that can cause major shifts in mood, energy, sleep, activity, concentration, and daily functioning. These shifts can include manic or hypomanic episodes and depressive episodes.
