Here are celebrities who suffered the loss of a child and later carried that grief in public.

John Travolta

John Travolta and his late wife, Kelly Preston, lost their son Jett Travolta in January 2009.

Jett was 16 when he died during a family vacation in the Bahamas. Travolta has spoken over the years about how deeply the loss affected him, once describing it as the worst thing that had ever happened in his life.

Vanessa Bryant

Vanessa Bryant lost her daughter Gianna Bryant in the same 2020 helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant and seven others.
