Michael Michael, August 10, 2026August 10, 2026

After calling Los Angeles home for 30 years, Fire Country star Diane Farr has officially moved on to a new chapter in her life. The actress shared the emotional milestone with fans on Instagram, posting a video that documented her final day in the city where she built both her career and her family.

Farr reflected on the significance of the move, explaining that she arrived in Los Angeles at age 26 after leaving New York City with hopes of becoming a successful actress. Looking back, she admitted she is still amazed that the dream she chased ultimately became reality.

A dream that became a career

In her heartfelt message, Farr noted that Los Angeles was a choice rather than a hometown. She explained that she wasn’t born there and didn’t attend school there, but moved across the country after receiving an opportunity for acting representation.

She described arriving in Hollywood much like many aspiring performers, pursuing a career without any guarantees. Over the following three decades, that decision led to a successful television career that included memorable roles across several popular series.

Farr wrote that she came to Los Angeles “chasing a dream that I am still shocked worked out,” expressing gratitude for everything the city gave her.

Farr’s acting career gained momentum in the late 1990s when she landed a breakout role on Roswell. She later became widely recognized for her performances in Numb3rs, Splitting Up Together, and, most recently, as Division Chief Sharon Leone on the CBS drama Fire Country.

Her steady television career established her as a familiar face to audiences while allowing her to work consistently in Hollywood for decades.

Throughout that time, Los Angeles served as both the center of her professional life and the place where many of her personal milestones unfolded.

More than a place to work

While Farr celebrated her professional accomplishments, she emphasized that Los Angeles also became the place where she raised her family.

She reflected on raising her children surrounded by California’s sunshine and mountains while enjoying the experiences that came with building a home in the city. Farr also expressed appreciation for the opportunities her family had, including attending public schools and creating lasting memories together.

The actress shares three children with her former husband, Seung Yong Chung: son Beckett, 18, and 17-year-old twins Coco and Sawyer.

The Instagram video featured emotional moments from Farr’s final day at the property she called home for many years. Clips showed her packing belongings, saying goodbye to her motorcycle, loading a moving truck, and revisiting memories connected to the house.

She admitted that leaving the home proved far more difficult than she expected, explaining that it represented much more than just a physical space. It symbolized the life she had built over three decades, from career successes to family milestones.

Although she described the dream as fully realized, she acknowledged that walking away from it was still emotional.

Looking ahead to a “third act”

Rather than viewing the move as an ending, Farr described it as the beginning of her “third act.” She hinted that the next phase of her life may include living in places she never imagined, mentioning the possibility of spending time in countries she had not previously considered.

While she did not reveal exactly where she is relocating, Farr made it clear that the move represents an opportunity to embrace new experiences while remaining grateful for everything Los Angeles gave her.

She also referred to the move as a “hiatus,” suggesting that her relationship with the city is changing rather than ending completely.

Fans send messages of support

Farr’s announcement quickly drew supportive messages from fans, many of whom thanked her for sharing such a personal milestone. Followers wished her success in whatever comes next, encouraging her as she begins another stage of her life.

Although she is leaving behind the city where her Hollywood journey unfolded, Farr made it clear that Los Angeles will always remain part of her story. As she embarks on her next adventure, she carries with her three decades of memories, friendships and accomplishments that helped shape both her career and her life.
