Sean Combs’ Federal Prison Release Date Updated According to Bureau of Prisons Records

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ projected federal prison release date has been updated once again, according to information listed by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons. The revised date has drawn renewed attention to the music mogul’s sentence, though officials have not publicly explained why the projected release has changed.

Combs is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking during the same trial.

Bureau of Prisons Lists a New Release Date

According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate database, Combs’ projected release date is now January 24, 2028.

Media reports note that the projected date has been adjusted several times. Earlier estimates reportedly placed his release in June 2028 before later moving to April 2028, then February 23, 2028, and now January 24, 2028.

The Bureau of Prisons has not publicly explained the reason for the revisions.

Federal prison release dates can change for a variety of administrative reasons, including sentence calculations, earned credits under federal law, or other institutional factors.

Combs is serving his sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey.

Recent media reports claimed he was temporarily placed in restrictive housing following an altercation with another inmate. The Federal Bureau of Prisons did not confirm those reports, stating that, for privacy and security reasons, it does not discuss housing assignments, disciplinary matters, or the confinement conditions of individual inmates.

His daughters, D’Lila and Jessie Combs, recently launched a clothing brand and said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that they intend to build careers independent of their father’s legal situation. Both emphasized that they should be viewed as individuals whose professional lives are separate from the publicity surrounding Combs’ case.
