Nearly six years after Jeffrey Epstein’s death, newly disclosed handwritten notes are shedding fresh light on his final weeks behind bars. According to documents obtained by The New York Times, the disgraced financier appeared to contemplate offering information about then-President Donald Trump as he awaited trial on federal sex trafficking charges in 2019.

While the notes have reignited interest in Epstein’s relationships with influential figures, they do not appear to contain new allegations against Trump, according to reporting surrounding the documents.

Following his arrest in July 2019, Jeffrey Epstein spent 35 days in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York.
