Some celebrity pets become famous almost by accident.

A dog appears in an Instagram post. A cat shows up on a TV set. A rescued animal finds a home with someone millions of people recognize.

These stories are sweet, but they also matter because they remind fans that adoption can change an animal’s life.

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston has a long history with rescue dogs. She adopted her puppy Lord Chesterfield in 2020 and thanked Wagmor Pets for caring for rescues and helping them find permanent homes. She has also spoken about her first rescue dog, Norman, whom she adopted after he appeared on Friends. Her rescue dog Clyde later inspired her children’s book project and animal rescue fund.

Chris Evans

Chris Evans adopted his dog Dodger while filming Gifted. The production used a real shelter location, and Evans later realized some of the dogs there were actually available for adoption.
