Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Reportedly Eye a New Home in One of America’s Most Exclusive Neighborhoods

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may be considering another major step in their life together following reports that the newlyweds are looking at potential locations for a marital home. One place reportedly attracting their attention is Montecito, California, the famously private enclave already home to numerous high-profile residents.

If the couple ultimately chooses Montecito, they would join a celebrity community famously associated with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have made the Santa Barbara County area their primary U.S. home. However, reports that Swift and Kelce are considering the neighborhood should not be confused with confirmation that they have purchased property there.

Montecito Reportedly Makes Their Shortlist

The Daily Mail reported that Montecito is among the locations Swift and Kelce have considered while looking at options for a home together.

It is not difficult to understand the potential attraction. Located northwest of Los Angeles near Santa Barbara, Montecito combines substantial estates, ocean and mountain views and a degree of privacy that is particularly valuable to celebrities.

For Swift, whose movements routinely attract photographers and fans, security and privacy would presumably be important considerations in any major property purchase.

Still, neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed plans to purchase a Montecito residence.

Why Montecito Attracts Famous Residents

Montecito’s reputation as a celebrity haven extends well beyond the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Oprah Winfrey has long been closely associated with the area, while other entertainment figures have owned or maintained properties in and around the community. Large lots, gated estates and the area’s relative separation from central Los Angeles make it particularly attractive to wealthy buyers seeking privacy.

The market comes with an appropriately high price tag. Zillow currently places the typical Montecito home value well above $5 million, although luxury estates can command substantially more.

For Swift, whose fortune has grown considerably through touring, recordings and ownership of her music, that market would offer plenty of possibilities.

Harry and Meghan Made Montecito Their Home

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s move helped bring even greater international attention to Montecito.

After stepping back as senior working members of Britain’s royal family, the couple settled in California and purchased a Montecito estate in 2020.

Meghan later recalled to The Cut that she and Harry initially hesitated even to view the property because they were uncertain whether buying it would be financially realistic at the time.

Their eventual choice reflected many of the qualities that continue attracting prominent residents to Montecito, particularly space and privacy away from the busiest parts of Los Angeles.

If Swift and Kelce eventually buy there, the similarities would largely end with their choice of neighborhood. Their personal circumstances and reasons for considering the area are very different from Harry and Meghan’s move.

Swift Already Owns an Impressive Collection of Homes

Swift would hardly be entering the luxury real estate market for the first time.

Over the course of her career, she has assembled properties in several parts of the United States. Her holdings have included homes in Nashville, New York City, Beverly Hills and Rhode Island.

Her historic Rhode Island estate is particularly recognizable to fans. Swift referenced the property’s former owner, socialite Rebekah Harkness, in “the last great american dynasty” from her 2020 album folklore.

Kelce has also invested in real estate. In 2023, he purchased a large property in Leawood, Kansas, as his relationship with Swift was attracting increasing public attention. Reports at the time noted that the home offered considerably more privacy than his previous residence.

Reports Put Their Wedding Cost in the Millions

The Montecito speculation follows extensive coverage surrounding Swift and Kelce’s reported 2026 wedding.

Estimates published after the event suggested that the elaborate celebration could have cost tens of millions of dollars once the venue, production, entertainment, catering and extensive security requirements were considered.

Those figures, however, remain estimates rather than a publicly disclosed wedding budget.

The intense attention surrounding the event also demonstrates why privacy could become particularly important when choosing a shared home.

A Montecito Move Remains Speculation for Now

For all the excitement surrounding the possibility of Swift and Kelce becoming neighbors with some of America’s biggest celebrities, there is an important distinction between considering an area and actually buying a house.

Neither has announced a Montecito purchase, and there is currently no confirmed property that can definitively be described as their new marital home.

For now, the most accurate conclusion is that Montecito has reportedly emerged as one possible destination. If the couple does ultimately choose the California enclave, they would be entering a community where privacy, spectacular properties and famous neighbors are already part of everyday life.
